How to Claim W Airdrop

Share:

Wormhole’s W airdrop has just transitioned into its final stage, where eligible users can claim their rewards. Head over to https://airdrop.wormhole.com/ to check your eligibility status and claim your allocation. The following guide will explain all the steps from getting started to claiming your allocation.

Please note that W claims are possible on Solana only. W will be going through a phased launch, eventually taking W natively multichain with an industry-first multichain governance system available on Solana, Ethereum mainnet, and EVM L2s. Read more about the launch process here

Further relevant details can be found on the following resources:

Get started

Navigate to https://airdrop.wormhole.com/ to start the claim process. First, make sure to read and accept the Supplemental Token Airdrop Terms. Check the box and click on the Agree and continue button.

Welcome

After accepting the supplemental terms, you are presented with a Welcome screen. Read through the information and click on Proceed.

Activity Review

To verify eligibility, first indicate which networks you have been active on in the past. During the next step, you will be prompted to connect the corresponding wallets. If you don’t see a chain that you were active on, don’t worry. Activity on any chains not shown in this screen was properly captured and the resulting W allocation was attributed to your address on the other side of the cross-chain transaction.

Please also indicate if you have been an active Wormhole Discord member. You will also be able to connect your Discord account during the next step. Once done, click Proceed and move on to the next step.

This guide will demonstrate claiming W allocations for activity on Solana, EVM, and Discord.

Verify Eligibility

The next screen shows instructions on how to verify your eligibility for the airdrop. After reading through the instructions, click on Proceed. Please keep in mind that if you are connecting a Solana wallet to verify eligibility, the same wallet will receive your W claim.

When ready, connect the wallets based on your selection from the previous step. To start establishing the connection, press on Connect wallet next to the ecosystem activity for which you would like to verify eligibility. In this example, we see options to connect a wallet for Solana and EVM, and we see an option to sign in with Discord.

Select the wallet you would like to connect to and wait for its pop-ups. In this guide, we will use Metamask for EVM and Backpack for Solana.

In our case, the Metamask and Backpack pop-ups will appear as shown above.

If connected correctly, parts of your wallet address will be visible, and a white check mark will appear next to them. In the right column, you’ll see the W allocation attributed to each wallet. This guide uses only a test example where each wallet is eligible for 0.1 W, so the total amount is only 0.2 W.

In case you would like to connect a different wallet, you will first need to disconnect the current wallet and repeat the connection process with the new wallet. To disconnect a wallet, click on the wallet address (you’ll see disconnect when you hover over the box).

If in the previous step you indicated that you have been an active Wormhole Discord member (e.g., part of the Fellowship, or hold a special role), you can also connect your Discord account now. Press on Sign in next to Discord activity.

A new window will appear where you can authorize the Discord connection.

If successful, the Discord connection will be visible as well. For the purposes of this guide, the username and profile picture have been hidden. If the Discord user is eligible for any W rewards, they will be visible in the right column.

Connect to Solana

W is native to Solana, so to receive your airdrop rewards, you’ll need to connect your Solana wallet. In case you connected a Solana wallet to verify eligibility, that same wallet will be used to receive your W allocation. Click Proceed to claim your W.

If you did not connect a Solana wallet in the previous step, please see the below screenshot.

If you did not connect a Solana wallet during the eligibility verification step, you can now connect your desired wallet to receive your W allocation from the list or explore more options by clicking on More wallets. Once you have chosen your wallet, connect it by approving in the pop-up.

Once your wallet is successfully connected, it will show up here. If you are satisfied with your selection press Proceed and move to the next step. If you would like to disconnect your wallet and connect a different one, hover over the wallet address and click on it once you see Disconnect.

Claim Tokens

The next steps will go through the process of proving your ownership over each eligible wallet by signing messages with each of your connected wallets. After you prove your ownership, you will be able to claim W tokens to your connected Solana wallet. Review the instructions and click on Proceed

A Sign button will appear next to each connected wallet. Click on it to start the process. In this example, we are only using EVM and the MetaMask wallet.

A pop-up will appear in your wallet, prompting you to sign the transaction. Press Sign to proceed.

Once it is successfully signed, a second check mark will appear next to the wallet. Press Proceed to go onto the next step.

Before moving on to the last steps of the process, you are prompted with a notification. Review the information and Proceed, or press Back to make changes and repeat the process. When you click Proceed, a Solana wallet popup will appear, asking you to sign a transaction. Sign it and claim your W.

Congratulations, you have successfully claimed your W! If you have more wallets to claim W allocations for, you can click Claim Again to go through the process again. You can also subscribe to email updates to stay in the loop with everything Wormhole.

Note that the screenshot shows 0 W since only test wallets were used to produce this guide.
