Sunsetting Portal Legacy: What You Need to Know
June 10, 2026
After years of faithful service moving assets across chains, Portal Legacy is being retired. On June 30, 2026, the legacy interface at legacy.portalbridge.com will be officially deprecated, and all traffic will be redirected to the main Portal Bridge site.
If you've been using the legacy UI for transfers, this post covers what's changing, why, and what you need to do before the deadline.
What's happening
Starting June 30, 2026, the legacy Portal interface will no longer be accessible. Visitors to legacy.portalbridge.com will be automatically redirected to the new Portal Bridge experience. The legacy URL will continue to exist only as a redirect — the standalone legacy app, including its transfer interface, will be retired.
Why we're deprecating it
The legacy UI has been running in parallel with the modern Portal Bridge for some time, primarily to provide continuity for users transferring assets on chains that hadn't yet been migrated to the new interface. Maintaining two front-ends in parallel adds complexity, slows feature delivery, and creates a confusing experience for users who aren't sure which version to use.
The new Portal Bridge has matured significantly. It offers a cleaner UI, improved wallet support, better routing, and ongoing feature investment — none of which the legacy app receives. Consolidating onto a single, actively maintained interface lets the team ship faster and gives users a more reliable experience.
What this means for you
**If you only use the new Portal Bridge: **Nothing changes. Keep transferring as usual.
If you occasionally use the legacy UI for chains not yet supported in the new interface: You have until June 30, 2026 to complete any pending transfers on those chains. After that date, the legacy interface will no longer be available, and you'll be redirected to the new site.
If you have funds or transfers in flight on the legacy UI: Don't wait. Complete or redeem any outstanding transfers well ahead of the deadline. Bridges occasionally require multiple steps (e.g., initiating on the source chain and redeeming on the destination), so give yourself a buffer.
Action items before June 30, 2026
A short checklist to make sure you're not caught off guard:
- Audit any open transfers on the legacy UI and complete or redeem them.
- Check which chains you actively use. If any of them are only available on legacy today, plan your final legacy transfers before the cutoff.
- Bookmark the new site: portalbridge.com.
- Reach out to support if you have unusual or large transfers that need attention before the deadline — earlier is better than later.
After June 30, 2026
Once the deprecation goes live, legacy.portalbridge.com will redirect to the main Portal Bridge site. The legacy interface itself will no longer be reachable, and any chain-specific functionality that lived only there will no longer be accessible through that URL.
We know change like this can be disruptive, especially for power users who've built workflows around the legacy UI. The 30+ day runway exists specifically to give the community time to wrap up anything outstanding without surprises.
Thanks to everyone who's used Portal Legacy over the years. The new Portal Bridge is where the work continues — and we'll see you there.
Questions, concerns, or transfers that need attention before the cutoff? Reach out through the official Portal Bridge support channels.
