Monad mainnet is now live with Wormhole powering the Monad Native Bridge at monadbridge.com, connecting the breakthrough 10,000 TPS Layer 1 blockchain to Ethereum. The Monad Native Bridge uses Wormhole's NTT standard and Axelar's General Message Passing for its infrastructure, establishing the gateway for moving assets such as MON and ETH between Monad and Ethereum.
The Monad Native Bridge enables immediate use across DeFi protocols without wrapped asset complications.
Monad Momentum apps are launching with rewards from day 1. For a guide to the ecosystem and available applications, read the Monad User Playbook.
Monad represents a fundamental breakthrough in blockchain architecture, delivering 10,000 transactions per second, 800ms finality, and near-zero gas fees while maintaining 100% EVM compatibility. Unlike Layer 2 solutions that build on existing infrastructure, Monad is rebuilt from the ground up with optimistic parallel execution, custom consensus mechanisms, and hardware-efficient design that enables consumer-grade nodes to participate in a truly decentralized network.
Developers can now access Monad's speed and efficiency while maintaining connectivity to established DeFi capital across EVM-compatible chains.
Monad has selected Wormhole's NTT (Native Token Transfers) standard and Axelar's General Message Passing as the foundation for its bridge infrastructure, establishing a strategic alliance with leading protocols including Mayan and Pyth. This enables seamless, efficient movement of both assets and data between Monad and Ethereum.
The Monad Native Bridge enables immediate use of transferred assets across DeFi protocols without wrapped asset complications, allowing institutions and users to move capital efficiently while maintaining liquidity and compatibility across applications.
Wormhole is deploying its complete suite of institutional-grade solutions to maximize Monad's connectivity and utility:
Monad’s Wormhole integration addresses the fundamental constraint that has limited blockchain adoption: the inability to achieve scalability, security, and decentralization simultaneously. While Ethereum processes roughly 10 TPS and leading EVM rollups reach only 50 TPS, Monad delivers 10,000 TPS with sub-cent gas fees and low hardware requirements that enable widespread node participation.
By connecting this breakthrough performance to established DeFi ecosystems through Wormhole's proven infrastructure, the integration creates new possibilities for applications that require both speed and multichain functionality. Institutional investors, DeFi protocols, and consumer applications can now access performance previously unavailable in EVM-compatible environments.
Monad is a Layer 1 blockchain that delivers full EVM compatibility with breakthrough performance, true decentralization, production-grade security, and exceptional throughput of 10,000 TPS. Monad represents a performance shift in blockchain architecture, addressing the fundamental trilemma of scalability, security, and decentralization through optimistic parallel execution, custom consensus mechanisms, and hardware-efficient design.
