Portal Earn is live: season 1 Playbook

The wait is over. Portal Earn is now live!

Portal is one of the most trusted and successful applications for multichain transfers, powering over $55 billion in volume for more than one million users. Now, the simplest way to move assets across chains is also the most rewarding.

With Portal Earn, every transfer you make becomes an opportunity to earn XP (Experience Points). Today marks the start of Season 1, which will run for several months.

Getting started

To participate, connect one or more wallets on the Portal Earn dashboard. You can connect multiple wallets across different blockchains to ensure all eligible activity is tracked. All eligible activities appear in the Activities section of the dashboard. Portal will automatically track your activity across all connected wallets to calculate your XP. Your XP, boosts, and leaderboard rank are updated daily at midnight UTC.

How to earn XP?

The rules are simple: the more you use Portal and participate in the Wormhole ecosystem, the more you get rewarded. You can earn XP by:

• Transferring tokens using Portal
• Subscribing to the Wormhole newsletter
• Staking W (Coming Soon)

To earn XP from transfers, go to portalbridge.com. Select the token you want to transfer, choose the source and destination chains, connect your wallets, and complete the transfer.

While all transfers generate XP, a strategic approach can significantly increase your rewards by taking advantage of all the boosts available.

Master the boosted transfers

The baseline reward rate is 2 XP per dollar transferred and 1 XP when using stablecoins. To maximize XP earned, it’s best to take advantage of boosted transfers:

• Boosted Tokens: Transfers involving SOL earn 3 XP per dollar.
• Boosted Chains: Transfers to Solana and HyperEVM also earn 3 XP per dollar.
• Maximum Multiplier: Combine a boosted token with a boosted chain destination to earn 4.5 XP per dollar.

Boosted tokens and chains will rotate over time, so keep an eye on the Portal Earn dashboard. In addition to these boosted transfers, dedicated campaigns with Wormhole partners will offer even greater boosts with specific tasks.

Season 1 launches with the Unichain Full Send program, rewarding specific transfers with up to 10 XP per dollar, with more campaigns on the way.

Increase your transfer volume

Portal Earn rewards consistent activity with a volume-based multiplier. This boost applies to all XP earned from transfers for the entire season once you reach a certain threshold.

The Volume Boost tiers are:

• $0 - $1,000 → 1x
• $1,000 - $10,000 → 1.1x
• $10,000 - $100,000 → 1.2x
• $100,000 - $1,000,000 → 1.3x
• $1,000,000 - $10,000,000 → 1.4x
• $10,000,000+ → 1.5x

Achieve a higher Portal status

Your leaderboard rank is the most powerful multiplier in the program. Your Portal Status is based on your percentile ranking and updates daily, meaning your tier can go up or down depending on your activity. Achieving a higher status applies a boost to your total XP earned.

XP resets at the end of each season. Your Portal Status carries over to the next season, which gives you a head start. The Status tiers and their XP multipliers are:

• Elite (Top 1%) → 1.6x
• Platinum (Top 5%) → 1.5x
• Gold (Top 10%) → 1.4x
• Silver (Top 25%) → 1.3x
• Bronze (Top 50%) → 1.2x
• Purple (Below Top 50%) → 1.1x
• No Status (Inactive) → No multiplier

W staking

Another powerful way to earn XP is by staking W, coming soon to Portal Earn. If you're already staking W, your past and ongoing activity will automatically be recognized and reflected as XP in Portal Earn once the integration goes live.When staking is live, connect the wallet that holds your staked W. If you use a different wallet for transfers, connect both so Portal Earn can track all eligible activity.
