Wormhole now supports World Chain, the blockchain designed for real humans built on the OP Stack. This integration establishes Wormhole as an interoperability provider for World Chain, with initial support for WLD, USDC.e, and WBTC transfers.
World Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 solution deployed by World (formerly Worldcoin) designed specifically for human-verified transactions. Built on the OP Stack and part of the Superchain, World Chain provides a scalable, secure environment while introducing innovative features for human-centric applications. This permissionless, open-source network has 18 million users and counting, and is engineered to scale all humans while maintaining Ethereum-level security.
World Chain operates as an Ethereum L2 blockchain that processes transactions off-chain and posts data to Ethereum L1. Key components include:
World Chain offers several unique advantages for developers and users:
If you have WLD, USDC.e, or WBTC on any of Wormhole's 30+ connected blockchains and want to bridge to or from World Chain, you can do so via Portal Bridge by following the steps below:
If you are a developer wanting to enable token transfers to and from World Chain, you can achieve this with just three lines of code via Wormhole Connect. Connect allows developers to integrate wrapped and native token transfers directly into their application UIs, enabling seamless bridging across Wormhole's 30+ connected blockchains, not just World Chain, secured by the Wormhole Guardians.
To start integrating Connect and enabling your application on World Chain, check out the NPM package to get started.
Wormhole is the leading interoperability platform that powers multichain applications and bridges at scale. Wormhole provides developers access to liquidity and users on over 30 of the leading blockchain networks, enabling use cases that span DeFi, NFTs, governance, and more.
The wider Wormhole network is trusted and used by teams like Circle and Uniswap. To date, the platform has facilitated the transfer of over 40 billion dollars through over 1 billion cross-chain messages. To learn more about Wormhole, follow on Twitter, join the Discord, or read more on the blog.
