What is the Wormhole xGrant program?

Wormhole, the leading interoperability protocol, is excited to announce the launch of the xGrant Program, a new ecosystem grant initiative that aims to empower cross-chain developers and founders. This program is designed to provide financial support, mentorship, and resources to help innovative projects reach their full potential and make a significant impact in the industry.

Who can participate?

The xGrant Program is open to developers and founders, regardless of their project’s stage of development. The xGrant can be used to cover a wide range of expenses, including software development, marketing, team expenses, and more. By providing financial support and resources, Wormhole is committed to helping developers and founders overcome the challenges they face and take their projects to the next level.

How does it work?

The xGrant Program is divided into four tiers, each offering different levels of support based on the needs and goals of the project.

Contribution
$5,000-$50,000

The first tier, “Contribution”, offers the opportunity to get a pre-determined, limited-scope feature or tool built out. If you have a specific feature in mind that would enhance your project, this tier provides the resources and support needed to make it a reality.

Incubation
$25,000-$100,000

The second tier, “Incubation”, offers the opportunity to integrate your project with Wormhole in a novel way. This tier provides the support and resources needed to help your project reach its full potential through integration with the Wormhole ecosystem.

Moonshot
~$200,000

The third tier, “Moonshot”, is designed for big, bold ideas. If you have a moonshot idea that could act as a flywheel for user adoption, this tier provides the resources and support needed to bring your vision to life.

Research
$ dependent on submission

The fourth tier, “Research”, offers the opportunity to push the boundaries of what’s possible for interoperability. This tier provides the resources needed to support cutting-edge research and development, allowing you to explore new frontiers in the blockchain space.

Each tier will provide financial support, mentorship, and access to resources, allowing grant recipients to make the most of the opportunities the xGrant Program provides. Whether you’re just starting out, growing your project, or exploring new frontiers, there is a tier that is right for you and your project.

What will you get?

In addition to financial support, the xGrant Program will provide mentorship from Wormhole’s experienced developer team. Recipients will have access to one-on-one sessions with industry experts, who will provide guidance and support as they navigate the blockchain space. The program will also provide opportunities for networking and collaboration with other grant recipients, allowing developers and founders to build relationships and learn from each other.

The Wormhole team will review all submissions on a regular basis and select the most promising projects for financial support and mentorship.

If you’re new to Wormhole, here’s what you need to know:

🌪️ Wormhole is an interoperability protocol that allows projects to build on top of its generic message-passing layer. It connects to multiple chains, including Ethereum, Solana, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Algorand, Fantom, Karura, Celo, Acala, Aptos and Arbitrum. Wormhole does this by emitting messages from one chain to another, which are observed and verified by a Guardian network of nodes. After verification, this message is submitted to the target chain for processing. This simple message-passing primitive enables cross-chain functionality. Users interact with xDapps (cross-chain decentralized applications) to transfer xAssets (cross-chain assets) between networks or access their xData (cross-chain data) to provide them services on their current network.
